​All instructors are part of a mixed-gender, woman-led instructor team. Instructors are needed to work part-time on a varied schedule that includes weekday, evening, and weekend hours. Once training is completed, all in-class time is paid.

Lead Instructors
In each course, Lead Instructors facilitate and plan content, demonstrate and teach the self-defense tools presented, and act as coach and referee during simulated scenarios presented.​

Qualifications:
  • Physical endurance, mobility, fitness, concentration, and focus
  • An understanding of sexual assault, violence against women and other populations, and how gender affects sexual assault and self-defense
  • Significant experience with most of the following:
    • Teaching
    • Facilitating
    • Group leadership
    • Public speaking
    • Counseling or trauma/crisis work
    • Physical activity and generating power

Suited Instructors
​Suited instructors play the role of an aggressor in simulated scenarios through which students learn both verbal and physical skills. Suited instructors wear customized full-body armor to ensure students’ and their safety in scenarios where students defend themselves by striking as hard as they can. 

Qualifications:
  • Ability to teach a physically demanding curriculum
  • Excellent physical condition with experience in martial arts,  contact sports, or other intensive physical activity.
  • Ability and willingness to provide support to students in a training process that is sometimes difficult and emotionally charged
  • Ability and willingness to play the role of an aggressor in simulated attack scenarios
  • Reliable access to a vehicle and cell phone
